Adventures of the Mod Mami- A Comeback

Mod Mami has been away for quite some time so I figured I'd bring her adventures back... here's to a comeback. Again we know todays Mod Mami- the juggler of a million and one things, the homemaker, the teacher, the mommy, the cook, the housekeeper, the maid, the nanny, the friend, the wife, the counselor, the referee, and much MUCH more. Today Mod Mami must play the role of the referee and counselor. Most of all the ultimate... the ultimate is where you must differintiate between crying and whining. When something is wrong or not.
Ok so now to the crisis...Mod Mami goes to answer the phone. An important call she has been waiting on...not three second intto the call a wailing child comes in screaming she wants this and that...She wants juice, yet she has an entire cup of her favorite juice I her hand (not the one she wants now that Mami is on phone), she yells she wants a snack yet she just ate one 5 minutes ago, she yells she wants a toy someone else has (but she has her own toy)....the child yells and screams. Mami hasn't been on the phone a minute and has to hang up on one of the most important calls ever because of a WHINY child....and as soon as she hangs up the phone the child walks away and goes play as quiet as can be. Hmmmmm thinks Mami... That's about all she can think right at the moment because any other thoughts would just not be nice. So all I a mattter of minutes Mami had to play referee on herself because she was battling thoughts of good and evil with herself (being so angry with her child) as well as counselor... she had to counsel herself because no one was there to do so...life of the stay at home mom. The miracle mom... the super mom....the irritated mom...can yall relate? Ha!

What a weekend?

What a weekend? Went out of town and was suppose to bring my friend's baby shower gift and forgot it sitting on the table at home. I didn't realize this until we were about 150 miles from home. GREAT! lol The shower is in two weeks but I wasn't sure I would make it now...I need to either mail it or make a way to go. Then today I realize that I've scheduled two appt. at the same time. Where is my brain at?
Anyway, on another note. I'm thinking about taking the business in another direction. Anxious to see how it goes.

What's effective discipline?

There is a lot of talk these days concerning discipline. I am curious what are your effective ways you discipline your child. It's so hard to find one way that works. I'm all eyes and ears because I have 3 toddlers and not much works. I've tried calmly talking, spanking, yelling, time out, taking toys away. Nothing seems to work. help!

Would he or she be equipped?

I read this awesome article on parentdish.com earlier about a mother r dying from terminal cancer with two children ages 2 and 4. She created a 'masterclass into motherhood' for her husband. When she was diagnosed and only had little time left to live she began teaching hubby everything around the house...hired a beautician to teach hubby to do daughter's hair and even told him 'no bumbs.' How cute. She left birthday cards for kids and notes. She later died but now her husband knows everything to do because in her time of illness instead of focusing on death she focused on helping them. How inspiring. Would your spouse be equipped to carry on if you suddenly passed away? What an interesting thought.

Brochures...Brochures

I've attempted to tweak my brochures up a bit with some more professional looking photos and more up to date items. It came out rather nice. I am also looking into fairs and craft shows to enter into. Another marketing medium to venture off into. I am very excited at the success of Mami So Chic thus far. Thanks to all of my supporters. Potty Training

How soon is too soon to potty train? My daughter decides today that she would give me a great mess to clean! She decided to go in the corner, take off her diaper and pee right there. She is 16 months old. Is that too soon to potty train? She cannot yet talk so in my head I'm thinking it's too early because she can't tell me she has to go. She says some words but not enough for me to know. I feel like...if she is smart enough to take the diaper off and potty right there then she can go to the physical potty. My older children never did this. They just started going to the potty on their own pretty much and they were able to talk to tell me they had to go. Ohhh boy! What ever do I do? HELP someone.

I was also told to check out this website www.preschoolrock.com. It spoke highly of this book Too Big for Diapers. I think I might have to check it out. Anyway, it's a website worth viewing if you have little ones.

So, the webiste is up and pretty much working. It's definitely been a work in progress considering I am doing it myself. We have a few things going on. We have found a new photographer that I am eager to work with. Hopefully things will be on the up and up and I will get her to do some product photograhy very soon. We also have an Ice Cream Dream photoshoot coming soon. I am currently working on the tutus and accessories. I intended it to come together for July but it doesn't seem as if that will work. It's been a minute since I last blogged! Wow! Well lots of new stuff in happening in my life so far! I've gotten married YEAH! So happy! I've been creating lots of new things. The new diaper cupcake and the diaper express keepsakes are super cute!

I really think these came out great! I am now working on an Independence line of accessories. Been a little behind. But everything will get done! I am currently looking for models for an Ice Cream Dream photoshoot. Little girls locally btw ages 3 and 5.
