Cowboy Party- a Hoedown

My son's cowboy party was awesome. It rained on us a few times and we had to transport tables and food back and forth but in the end it all worked out. The children had a blast and thats all that mattered! My children had so much fun getting dressed as a cowboy and cowgirls. I cut my girls overalls and washed/dryed thema  few times till bottoms frayed. I made them tutus to wear on top that matched their boots and found coordinating bandanas and hats. I thought they looked just darling.

I had so much fun creating all the lil decor items. We made centerpieces out of brown paper bags, twine and weeds we pulled from a field. We used my husbands saw horses and some scrap wood pieces and made a male and female horse (the kids loved it because they were able to sit on them and take photos). I found a few photos online that showed where people made western towns so I attempted to make one myself from cardboard boxes. We had a saloon, a bar, a hotel, a jail, a general store and a cowboy (face cutout). The cowboy and the saloon were interactive the kids could walk into the saloon and stand behind the cowboy and put their face in to take photos. The kids LOVED it.

I made cupcakes and my first attempt at a cowboy had came out pretty good I thought. The kids loved the blue icing (parents probably not so much) but it was all fun and tasty. I sent the kids home with goodies bags and homeade cowboy hat and cowboy boot cookies I made. I only got a pic of the boot didnt get any of the hats.

The party was an overall success I look forward to planning many more for my little ones! It was worth all the hard work.
